Mui Ne - Khe Ga Downwind Dash

Postby Storm » Sat Feb 06, 2010 10:57 am

Over the last few weeks with conditions been pretty crowded up here in Little Mui Ne we've been scoping the costline for some alternative spots. Just after Phan Thiet is a stretch of uninterupted coastline with nice waves and onshore winds.

If your looking for an alternative ride and a bit of an adventure from the usual downwinder to Phan Thiet were suggesting the Mui Ne - Khe Ga down wind dash.

Were looking for serious experianced riders to get the idea going. We made 8k's south of Phan Thiet about 3/4 of the way the other day in 1.15mins before the wind funked out on us. I would suggest a solid day of 16-18knots with a ride time of 3hrs + we'd take a break just after Phan Thiet to refule ready for the wave session.

Any comments welome on the idea. Its a goal that on record "I believe" only Rob (Kite-n-surf) has achieved to date. It's a bus ride back to Phan Thiet where we'll grab a cab and some more beers

Any takers......

Brilliant idea Scott, I'm up for it! Name the time and place and I'll be there. Do we need to sort out any emergency back up plan if we are bringing a large number of kiters on very long downwinders, ie back up bus, first aid kits, mobile phone in waterproof case?? And are you prepared to organise this ?
