Every year Mui Ne has more kite schools and kitesurfers, still instructors are in demand as the love for this sport increases. Even with this increase in schools the student traffic in the bay has not been overwhelming for other kitesurfing students or already accomplished riders.
 

Please be aware that there may be unlicensed unqualified schools and instructors operating in Mui Ne, so for your own safety and the safety of other beach users please only use the licensed schools. As with most services you get what you pay for, so when considering learning kitesurfing a potentially dangerous sport, spending a little extra cash to ensure your personal safety, is pure common sense.  The kitesurfing schools all offer different packages to suit your needs and are all roughly the same price.

As a beginner your first concern is safety. What we mean by that is firstly make sure that your kitesurfing instructor is iko qualified, check if full safety equipment will be used e.g: helmet, life vest. If you are not comfortable or you don't have enough experience and your feeling a little overwhelmed, then you can always visit the forum to ask your questions (www.kitesurfing-muine.com/forum/phpbb3), it is also a great place also to buy or sell your kitesurfing equipment. There you will find a wealth of more specific information under the discussions section. If you still can't find an answer then please feel free to post your question on the forum and we will answer it personally.

Key safety points that you must be taught before kiting on your own:

• Know the Right of way rules/Respect to other beach users.

• Know how to correctly and safely rig up the kitesurfing equipment.

• Be aware of certain weather conditions and environments that can pose a danger to kitesurfers.

• Know how to use your safety equipment correctly for the type of kite you are flying.

• Know how to launch and land the kite safely including all safety checks prior to launch and land.

• Know how to pilot the kite in a controlled manner both in and out of the water.

• Know how to use your safety equipment correctly for the type of kite you are flying.

• Know how to self rescue, and re-launch.

A message for all: Most schools are happy for kitesurfers to use their beach area, as long as this is done in a safe professional manner, using the correct procedures for kitesurfing (Rules and respect).

 Jibes:                                                                                                                      One of the first schools in Mui Ne provides sailing, surf boards, SUP (Stand up paddle boards), kayak rental and more. Jibes also has a great water sports shop at the same location. Jibes kiteschool is under the care of Matt who is a thorough and professional Instructor, using Airush kites and F-One. Matt probably has the most instructor experience on the beach and takes safety of the sport as priority.

Managed my Rob Kidnie (Aussie Rob) whom was a sponsored surfer in Australia and has over 25 years experience in water sports Instruction. Rob provides 1 to 1 advanced wave riding technique courses in Mui Ne bay or surrounding breaks.

Core school enjoys an expansive beach and nice enclosed school area with secure underground storage facilities.

Rob also is one of the pioneers on the Beach using the ‘Radio Helmet’ to keep him in contact with students in the water at all times. Core school is using all new Core kites this season for whom Rob is actually the Vietnam and Indonesian rep. Other services provided are Surfing lessons, lessons in advanced wave riding techniques, kite, board, surf board and SUP sales, and surf/kite surf trips to Indonesia.

                                                                                                                      Storm offers three instructional classes for KITEBOARDING, SURFING and the latest craze to hit our shores, STANDUP PADDLE SURFING (SUP’S).

Storm are distributrs for Wainman Kites, Mystic Kiteboarding accessories. With a huge selection of custom and production Wave boards in Mui Ne, Storm are also suppliers of Underground Kiteboards. Storm has two retail outlets in Mui Ne stacked full of goodies from Beginner to the Pro.

The School uses Cabrinha kites and has a good sized teaching area.  Located in the grounds of Wax bar, which is very handy for food and drinks while you take a rest. There is also a private swimming pool, for their customers.

Vietnam Kitesurfing School.                                                            One of the few kite schools 100% Vietnamese owned and run. Nice school and friendly staff. Lessons are taught in both English and Vietnamese. The school teaches on new Core kites (2009/2010 season) and full safety equipment is used. Located on the beach and operates out of Sunrise resort.

Windy Sun Kitesurf School:                                                                       Russian owned and run, already with a centre in Bali. Windy Sun has been in Vietnam for five years recently opening in Mui Ne. They offer a range of water sports. (More details to follow soon). All instructors are IKO certified and there is a range of equipment for rent and sale.

This school offers its customers a 100% refund if you are not happy with the service provided (so far this has not had to be put to the test).
